Just a tiny tweak on instructions I've seen before...

You need xterm plus the ssh client/server package -- but You don't need to know your ip address.

From an xterm, "ssh root@localhost"

and enter the password when prompted. Viola, root access.

Now, first thing, change the root password.

Anybody can do what you just did, over the wireless link! "passwd" and follow the prompts...
