Access the other applications menu (part of screen dead)

Right around where the last icon (the "other application" menu) on the left menu of my 770 there is a dead area on the screen so i cannot click on it to access the control panel etc. The other 2 menu items work (the browser links and the email item... since the touch screen is fine there). But the main "other application" menu does not.

Are there any tips to move the whole menu from the left to somewhere else .... a new theme, editing some config file ... anyway of being able to access the menu??

All the hard buttons work ... so is there any other way to get to the app menu other than thru touch screen? as far as i can tell, the directional arrows don't let you get focus on the app menu ...... you can obviously control the sub menus on it with the arrows, but i cannot get on to it to start with..... how about creating a short cut on the screen for the one main app that i want?
